Is a raw diet right for your dog? Yes
For thousands of years, dogs lived alongside mankind eating the scraps and raw meat leftovers from hunts. When food was scarce and when extra calories were needed, they would hunt for rodents and small game nearby.
Kibble was first created in 1860 out of wheat, vegetables and beef blood, a recipe that has only gotten worse. It took quite a few years before it (unfortunately) became the normal diet for our canine companions. Since then disease has skyrocketed, with over half of dogs getting cancer, and many more dying from heart failure, kidney disease, liver issues, obesity, and many other health problems rarely seen in wild canines. Flea/tick pesticides, vaccines, medication, and lifestyle can also be partially to blame for this, however, diet plays an enormous role in the health of any animal or human. Many owners are realizing this too late, after the damage has already been done and they are left dealing with devastating disease and early preventable death. Once you know better, you do better. And many owners just don't know. There are quite a few myths associated with raw diets, too often spread by people who have done little to no nutritional research and are clueless about canine digestion and biology. Others who oppose raw diets include those that were taught canine nutrition by the very ones selling this toxic sludge, and those that make money off of sick dogs. Do you really think they are going to tell you the truth? No. And our dog's suffer.
Why?
There are many health benefits you will notice after switching your dog to an ancestral diet of raw animal foods. These include: clean teeth, reduced odor, smaller feces, shiny coats, better energy levels, healthy weight maintenance, stronger immune system, more endurance, reduced allergies and inflammation, longer lifespan and greatly reduced vet bills. Diet is one of the most important dog care decisions you will make. Why wait?
